Pastor Wayne Merritt's life verse is Philippians 1:21, "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." His ministry and mission are to equip others for meaningful life and ministry in Christ. He has served as Lead Pastor of the Rincon Church of God for 33 years.
Pastor Merritt serves as the State World Missions Board Chairman, as District Overseer for the Church of God Savannah District, and on the board of directors for Urban Harvest Ministries, a ministry to the inner cities of New York and Detriot.
Pastor Merritt was born in Jeff Davis County, Georgia and grew up in a loving, Christian home. He received Christ as his personal Savior and Lord at age 19 and committed himself to ministry in his local church. He married Kim Stone in 1975. While employed as a Sales Representative with a major corporation and pursuing a business degree at Armstrong State University, he accepted God's call on his life to preach the gospel. In July 1983, he began pastoring his first church in Rincon, Georgia.
Pastor Merritt and Kim have a daughter and two sons, two daughters-in-law, and three granddaughters.
Pastor and Kim look forward to all God has planned for Rincon Church of God and that it will continue to make a major impact for Christ in Effingham County, Georgia and beyond.

Les and Tressa Woodard returned to Rincon Church of God in July of 2014. The Woodards served RCOG for nearly ten years as Youth and Music Pastors from 2001 - 2011. They bring with them a wealth of ministry experience in the fields of youth, music, children, and associate ministry.
The Woodards have a passion to lead the body of Christ in worship and witness people use their gifts and talents for the glory of God. As Associate Pastors, they oversee the Youth and Children's ministry, media and publications, and continue to have a desire to see students and children become lifelong followers of Jesus.
Pastor Les has served on a variety of boards and committees. He currently serves on the South Georgia Music Committee and has served on the South Georgia Youth Board and MIP Board, as well as the Smoky Mountain Winterfest steering committee. He also is an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God.
The Woodards have served as Associate/Worship Pastors at Azalea Garden Church in Virginia Beach, VA and Youth and Music Pastors at Open Door Community Church in Erlanger, KY.
Les and Tressa met while attending Lee University in the early 90s and both hold degrees in Music Education with minors in Bible, Christian Education, and Intercultural Studies. Tressa teaches music at South Effingham Middle School and directs the 6th - 8th grade choirs.
The Woodards have three children - Trent, Jaden and Brock. All three of their children are very involved in ministry as well, leading worship in Youth Movement, leading in Kids City, and singing in the children's choir. Trent is a rising sophomore at Lee University and ministers in Campus Choir and as a Bible study leader in his dorm.

Youth Pastor - Youth Movement
Kevin and Renee Summitt have served as Youth Pastors at RCOG since October of 2013. The Summitts began attending RCOG in the summer of 2007.
The Summitts bring with them an abundance of ministry experience. They have served as full time Youth Pastors, Music Pastors and Outreach Pastors, as well as serving in a variety of areas, such as music ministry, Sunday school, Church and Pastor's Council and much more.
Kevin and Renee met while attending East Coast Bible College. Kevin graduated East Coast with a BS degree in Biblical Studies, and Renee with a BS degree in Music and Christian Education.
Kevin's ministry experience ranges from becoming an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God, substitute teaching in middle school, being a Deputized Chaplin, to working youth events for the Church of God on a national and state level.
After his relationship with Christ, his wife and family are his most prized possessions. "My bi-vocational commitment to RCOG is one of the highlights of my life. Getting the opportunity to engage the youth of our community is a full-time job but brings great rewards when a life is changed forever."
Kevin and Renee have 4 boys - Josh, Jordan, Jared, and Cody. Each of their boys are involved in ministry here at RCOG, including Kids City, Youth Movement, Creative Team, and video tech.

Children's Worship Director
Josh Summitt has been a senior leader in Kids City (formerly Kidsvillle) since the spring of 2008. He has had the pleasure of serving and learning under many influential leaders within the church and has been a member of Rincon Church of God for the past decade. Josh's heart is to see that those working and learning under his ministry experience and connect with the heart of Heaven. Josh's life goal is to use his gifts and talents to help the history and the future of Jesus come alive visually for the church.
Additionally, Josh is also a current member of the Creative Team and the Youth Movement Staff at Rincon. Josh was a key leader in creating our "Welcome Home" theme launched in January of 2015. He also regularly contributes graphics and designs for a variety of ministries here at RCOG.
He is a recent graduate from Georgia Southern University (2016, Cum Laude). While spending his time at GSU, he studied Business and Marketing and also obtained a minor in Public Relations. Josh received over 15 prestigious awards while in school including the 2015 Communication Design Award. He also received a certificate in Worship Fundamentals from WorshipU (Redding, California). In his free time, Josh loves spending time on the coast, spending time by the pool with friends, and enjoying Mexican food.

Vickie Steele serves as our church Administrative Secretary. Vickie and her husband Dewey began attending Rincon Church of God in 1987.
Besides serving in our church offices Tuesday - Thursday, Vickie serves as the Sunday School teacher for the Bridge Builders small group, and on the Women's Ministries leadership team. She and Dewey have served in a variety of ministries through the years at RCOG, including Christian Education Director, sanctuary choir, youth ministry, college and career, women's ministry, and the benevolence ministry.
The Steeles have been leaders in our church for decades and their service for the Kingdom of God at RCOG is very appreciated.

Brandy Clark serves as the bookkeeper for Rincon Church of God. Brandy and her husband Jason began attending Rincon Church of God in 2001.
The Clarks have served in a variety of ministries through the years, including Royal Rangers commanders, head of the Ushers Committee, Church and Pastor's Council, and the sanctuary choir.
Brandy and Jason play a valuable role in the life of Rincon Church of God. Their service has made an eternal impact in the lives of boys and young men through the Royal Rangers program.
