Family Promise works to help homeless and out of work families find a safe place to stay, and food to eat, while looking for employment and keeping their children in school.
Churches partner with family promise by being host congregations, volunteering to cook, serve food, socialize with guests, and stay overnight.
There are an estimated 65 homeless families with children in Effingham County. 119 school-aged children are without a place to live. There are no shelter beds available in Effingham County.
You can help in three ways: contribute financially, volunteer in a variety of areas or contribute goods (unused personal items, gently used household goods, office supplies, furniture).
